About Align Treatment Center

Our Philosophy

Align Treatment Center is an Adolescent Eating Disorder Residential Program that partners Clinicians and Caregivers in the battle against eating disorders. We are committed to utilizing Evidence Based Treatments to effectively build motivation and coping skills for patients, while empowering caregivers with the psychoeducation, tools and support necessary to be more prepared to help their child when they return home.

Our Mission

Our mission is to provide superior mental health services and serve as the model for creating an adolescent residential treatment center that unites patients, families, staff, PHP/IOP programs and the community as a whole to join together and help those struggling with eating disorders.

Our Team

Angelo M. Del Re MD, MSc, FAAP

Medical Director

Dr. Angelo Del Re grew up in Cleveland, Ohio and attended college at Wake Forest University in North Carolina. He furthered his education by earning both a graduate degree in neuroscience as well as his medical degree at the Medical University of South Carolina and went on to complete his pediatrics residency in Virginia.

Dr. Del Re relocated to beautiful San Diego in 2012. Since setting roots here, he has served the urgent needs of the children in our community as a provider at Rady Children’s Hospital emergency department. He has also served a number of years in north county San Diego as an outpatient pediatrician. While Dr. Del Re considers it a privilege caring for acutely ill children, he also has a special interest in both pediatric mental health and adolescent eating disorders. He enjoys serving our community by building relationships with families and keeping kids safe and healthy. San Diego Magazine has recognized Dr. Del Re as a “Top Doc” in 2016, 2017, 2018, 2021 and 2022.

Dr. Nicole Posner, MD

Psychiatrist

Dr. Nicole Posner is a distinguished psychiatrist, specializing in psychopharmacology and psychotherapy, with a private practice in San Diego, California. Dr. Posner attended the University of Vermont and earned her medical degree at the Sackler School of Medicine. She completed her residency in psychiatry at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai. Throughout her career spanning over two decades, Dr. Posner has worked with adults and adolescents with eating disorders in various treatment settings, including Residential Treatment Centers (RTC), Partial Hospitalization Programs (PHP), Intensive Outpatient Programs (IOP), and outpatient care facilities. Her dedication and expertise have earned her recognition on national television and a leadership role as the president of the San Diego Chapter of the International Eating Disorder Association. 

Sarah Archer, LMFT

Clinical Director

Sarah Archer LMFT, has been working with adolescents, teens and their families for over 15 years as a behavioral coach, individual and family therapist. Transitioning from Rady Children’s Hospital, Sarah has served as the Program Manager to the UCSD Adolescent Eating Disorder Program for over 10 years. While in addition to providing clinical services, she managed all program admissions, served as the San Diego Unified School District Liaison, trained and supervised staff in Evidence Based Practices and served as Lead of Adolescent Athletic Programming. 

Sarah Archer received her Master’s in Marriage and Family Therapy from University of San Diego in 2005.  She has served as an Adjunct Professor at USD teaching Family Counseling to Graduate Students in 2019 and 2020 and for the past 6 years has been a guest lecturer at UCSD for the undergraduate eating disorder seminar. In 2019 she Co-Founded CounSEL, an animated video-based program teaching adolescents and teens evidence-based coping skills and has served over 30,000 students throughout California. 

Leigh Ann Wilson, RN

Director of Nursing

Leigh Ann Wilson is a dedicated Registered Nurse with over ten years of experience in the healthcare industry. She is a graduate of the University of CA, Santa Barbara where she earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication and Exercise Studies. Her passion for health led her to return to school and receive her nursing degree and RN license. Leigh Ann has worked with a diverse range of patients from children to seniors in a variety of medical settings.

She began her nursing career at Children’s Primary Care clinics and then moved to adult acute care at UC San Diego Medical System. In the UCSD system, she floated across a wide range of departments including: medical-surgical, telemetry, cardiac, orthopedics, and psychiatric. For several years, Leigh Ann worked on a speciality nursing unit that treated teenagers and young adults with unique medical conditions such as epilepsy and Cystic Fibrosis. Additionally, she has worked as a nurse consultant and health informatics leader assisting physicians launch their private medical practices.

Leigh Ann believes that all patients should experience individualized and compassionate care. She finds great joy in working with companies that are determined to bring health and care back to healthcare.

Sammi Montag, RD

Dietary Director

Sammi Montag RD CDCES and Certified Intuitive Eating Counselor, has been working in eating disorder and mental health nutrition for the past 10 years. Sammi earned her dietetics degree from Point Loma Nazarene University and completed her dietetic internship at the UCSD Medical Centers. She has worked as a registered dietitian at various residential, partial hospitalization, and outpatient facilities throughout San Diego County engaged in both clinical and food service roles. She serves as a resource to the eating disorder community by acting as co-lead to an eating disorder dietitian practice group and facilitates trainings and education to multi-disciplinary teams.
